念法律的朋友聊天，話題總是會談到律師這行前景如何。一年以前說到的常是：那家大所年薪又破十六萬了，偶爾雖有看淡消息，大家也不那麼悲觀。今年以來，卻是壞消息不斷：部門縮減、裁員、參加job fair的律所數量不如從前（但public sector的job fair收件日期倒是一直延期）。今年下半年以來，華爾街又陸續爆雷，而當公司的態度轉為保守、縮減開支，律師這一行是否又會受到影響？律師專業的明星領域，會不會重新洗牌呢？在Penn State念JD的網友Alex最近參加學校的座談會，會中邀請顧問公司Altman Weil的人談論律師事務所對產業看法的調查結果。Alex記錄成文，並大方讓我轉貼，在這裡說聲謝謝囉！以下是他的文章，提供各位道友們參考。另，這場座談的講者是：Ward Bower。

今天學校請了一位consultant來學校座談, 題目是"What's hot and what's not."  他們的顧問公司每年都會對全美前200大事務所發出調查目前事務所對於執業領域產業變化的survey, 以下跟大家分享今年的result:

最後要補充的是, 數據上來說一年有四萬法學院畢業生, 其中四分之一會被前200大聘走.  沒有拿到大所的邀約不是世界末日 (對, 我知道國際學生找工作辦H-1困難, 接到大所邀約會是天降甘霖...).  另外, 事務所開始有減少迷信t14的傾向, 願意多花時間注意排名較後面的學校了.
